Fireside tunes and an evening with Curious Blend

We had a great time playing for the Half Moon Bay Passeggiata this evening with Curious Blend. We did two 30-minute sets split by two sets that they played. It was great to have the opportunity to listen to their amazing harmonies.

If you're not familiar with Curious Blend, they are an amazing a cappella singing group. I think they describe themselves best on there web site. "Curious Blend is a mixed gender group (2 guys and 2 gals) that refuses to be limited to one musical orientation. If we like it, we sing it! A Curious Blend concert is like a meal of tapas – tasty bites of different musical flavors."

This was the last Passeggiata of the season, and it may not come back next year, so it was nice to hear other bands and see people out and about on a fairly cool evening.  We missed Julie jammin' out the harmonies tonight, but enjoyed a great new sound system that Rob brought down. We didn't have any problems being heard over the band playing across the street.

After our official sets, Dave, Leslie and myself hung around the fire pit and played a mini session with Raymond, Helen and Dave of the Lighthouse String Band. With wee whiskeys for sipping, toes for tapping, and the fire to keep us warm we played until closing time.

A big thanks to everyone for coming down and making it a great evening. We had a great time. I hope you did too.
